Cleaning

As with every organisation, cleaning is an essential role, especially within a hospital environment and for the benefit and safety of our staff and volunteers.

We usually work in pairs or as a team and currently do our cleaning on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours each session (depending on the number of cleaners).  

Cleaning is undertaken in the following areas:  

• Clinic Room and the four Intensive Care Units (ICUs).  If an ICU is occupied,          then the staff involved will look after the cleaning. 
• office areas and meeting room, 
• kitchen and staff area, and  
• toilets and laundry.
   

Each area needs to be vacuumed and mopped, bins emptied and general cleaning undertaken as required.
