Hit by a car two days before Christmas, Mikayla and her gorgeous joey Sharon, were fortunate to be rescued and treated at Port Stephens Koala Hospital.  Although Sharon was hit, her mum took the brunt of the impact and, when old enough, Sharon was released back to the wild. Mikayla’s injuries were much more serious, with fractures to her jaw, nose and shoulder, however after emergency surgery and lots of care, she’s much better but facing a slow path to full recovery.
