Our aim is to educate the public about the role of Port Stephens Koala Hospital, the endangered status of koalas, their behaviour, characteristics and threats to the koala population, in particular, the koalas of the Port Stephens area. We also explain the ways in which people can help to keep our local koala population safe.
As part of the Education Team, you will need to be confident when talking to large groups of people. Talks usually take place in preschools, primary and secondary schools, community groups and organisations, such as Lions Clubs, as well as at markets and at the Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary.
We use a variety of formats including Face to Face supported with posters, handouts, PowerPoint presentations and Zoom.
Of course, you will be provided with suitable training accompanied by training manuals with all of the information about koalas that you will need including their treatment and care as well as detail about the PSKH organisation.
