Work Placement

The Port Stephens Koala Hospital (PSKH) Work Placement programme provides an ideal pathway for tertiary students seeking work placement opportunities to facilitate completion of their studies i.e. CERT II, CERT III, degree courses and so on.

You will gain valuable experience in working with sick and injured koalas and also working with our dedicated team of experienced veterinary staff, nurses and carers.

All university-based applicants should ensure they work through their Work Placement Officers in the first instance and prior to submitting an application.

Also be aware of the following points as it may impact your ability to commit to work placement at PSKH:

  • koala care shifts commence no later than 8:00 am each morning, and
  • due to the location of PSKH at One Mile, there are no easy public transport options.

If you are interested, please complete the Work Placement Application via this link.

Once submitted, your application will be directed to the most appropriate person within PSKH who will respond to you as soon as possible.  The Volunteer Application is only for those wishing to participate in longer term volunteering.
