Koala Name: Martha
Rescued: September 2021
Released: December 2021
Reason Martha came into care: Martha was brought to Port Stephens Koala Hospital after sustaining some injuries from a large predator lizard in her home. These lizards sometimes may eat small joeys if they catch them. Martha is the mother to Blinky, who is now with us permanently due to the injuries sustained by the same lizard. Martha did a great job at protecting Blinky.
Treatment provided: Upon admission, Martha was given a full health check and the wounds on her back and arm cleaned. She received ongoing antibiotics to ensure the wounds did not become infected.
Estimated cost of treatment while in care $1,000
