Port Stephens Koala Hospital Work Experience programme for secondary school students provides an ideal place to gain valuable experience, particularly if you have a genuine interest in the well-being of our endangered koalas and other Australian native animals.
Applicants must be 15 years or older and if under 18 years of age, must have the consent of a parent or guardian (we will discuss this once we have received your application).
Due to the schedule for koala care shifts, start times are usually earlier than school start times, and given our location at One Mile, public transport is nor a realistic option.

Once submitted, your application will be directed to the most appropriate person within PSKH who will respond to you as soon as possible. The Volunteer Application is only for those wishing to participate in longer term volunteering.
We rely on adoptions and donations to help save koalas and other native wildlife. As we are a not-for-profit organisation, your generosity will help to cover the inevitable costs.
We have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status which makes it easier for us to fundraise to support the ongoing work of Port Stephens Koala Hospital.
