Reason Casey came into care: A member of the public found Casey on her back porch. While she knew that there were koalas in the area, she was worried that, due to Casey’s small size, she might need motherly attention and so called the rescue line, and a rescue team was activated to assist.
Treatment provided: Casey was given a full veterinary health assessment upon arrival which included radiographs, ultrasound and blood tests. Due to Casey being a little too small to be on her own, she was put into one of our rehabilitation yards, where she had access to several large trees, so she was able to climb and build up her strength. Once she reached a suitable age and development stage, she was released back into one of the local release locations.
